According to the information, a complaint of ragging was lodged at Kandaghat police station in Solan. It is written in the complaint that the senior students were mentally harassing the complainant for several days. The victim student was beaten up in the name of ragging in the room and he was injured in it.

At present, Karan Dogra, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, Chirag Rana, a resident of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh and Divyansh, resident of Hamirpur have been arrested by the police. Ragging was done in the university hostel.

A video of the incident has also surfaced. In this, some youths are surrounding a young man and these people are brutally beating the student with a belt. SP Solan Gaurav Singh said that on the complaint of student Rajat Kumar, a case has been registered under Section 115 clause 2 of the Indian Penal Code or BNS for hostage-taking and under the Anti-Ragging Act and three students have been arrested.
