Rampur police of Shimla district has taken action against Chitta (heroin) smugglers. Rampur police has arrested 10 smugglers. Heroin and drug money were recovered from the accused. Police have registered a case and started further action.
According to the information,the Rampur police team raided a residential house in Kudidhar late Sunday night. The team recovered 30.88 grams of chitta and 50 thousand cash from the spot.
Among the accused arrested on the spot, 5 are residents of the Mandi district. These include Ajay Kumar (34), Roshan (28) from Pandoh, Vijay Kumar (32) from Banol and Piyush alias Raman (18). Police have also arrested Rohit (40) from Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
Action taken on the basis of interrogation of already arrested smugglers
Earlier on June 26, the police had arrested Ankit Thakur (30), resident of Nirath, Rampur and Gaurav (22), resident of Delath. Based on their interrogation, 10 smugglers have been arrested in four days. On June 29, 3 more accused were arrested. These include Anwar Ali (27) from Hatton in Mandi, Bhanu (25) from Ambedkar Nagar in Sundarnagar and Naresh Kumar (30).
Case registered in Rampur police station
A case has been registered under the Narcotics Act in Rampur police station. DSP Rampur Naresh Sharma said that the search for other accused is on. He said that the campaign against drugs will continue and action will be taken against those involved in buying and selling of drugs.
