Himachal receives 32 percent less rainfall than normal; tourists flock to Shimla, Manali to enjoy weather

Himachal Pradesh has received less than normal rainfall in the month of March. Except for Kullu and Mandi, all other districts have recorded less rainfall. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain and snowfall is expected in the higher regions of the state on April 3. During this period, the minimum temperature has increased by 1 to 2 degrees.

In March, the state received only 75.6 mm of rain as against the normal 111.8 mm rainfall, which is 32 percent less than normal. However, Kullu and Mandi received more than the normal rainfall. Kullu received 156.3 mm of rain, which is 18 percent more than normal, and Mandi received 75.7 mm of rain, which is 6 percent more than normal. Shimla received 79.8 mm of rain, which is just 1 percent less than normal. At the same time, Una received 17.1 mm of rain, which is 62 percent less than normal.

The Meteorological Department has predicted light snowfall and rain in the higher regions on April 3. The weather is expected to remain clear till April 5. After the sun shone all over the state on Sunday, the maximum temperature increased by 1 to 2 degrees. The maximum increase of 2.5 degrees was seen in Nahan, while the temperature in Kalpa and Kasauli fell by 1.3 degrees.

During this time, the number of tourists has increased in Shimla and Manali, where they are enjoying the pleasant weather. The night temperature in Shimla is warmer than in other places at this time.
