Last night, 55.0 mm rain was recorded in Nagarota Surian, 32.8 mm in Naina Devi, 28.6 mm in Guler, 28.1 mm in Nahan, 22.2 mm in Murari Devi, 18.6 mm in Ghamarur, 18.0 mm in Kasauli, 14.0 mm in Bhatiyat, 12.0 mm in Chamba, 11.2 mm in Jot, 10.0 mm in Rohru and Sujanpur Tihra.

Fourlane sunk up to half a meter in Diod

The fourlane between Mandi-Kullu has sunk up to half a meter in Diod. Due to this, the fourlane has once again come under the threat. Due to continuous rain in the area, the four-lane has started sinking again. The area where the four-lane has sunk was also badly damaged during the heavy rains of 2023. The dam installed on the roadside can fall anytime now. This has not only created the danger of the road being completely destroyed, but the lives of thousands of vehicles and passengers passing through here have also been put at risk. Varun Chari, Project Director of NHAI Mandi unit, said that the matter is under consideration and necessary action is being taken. Four-lane settlement has taken place near Diod. At present, it seems to be an upper settlement. The situation will be assessed after inspection.
