A cloud burst in Kullu, Himachal late on Monday-Tuesday night wreaked havoc and washed away shops, bridges, etc. This caused heavy rain in Tosh Nala of Manikaran Valley. The liquor shop, shop and bridge were washed away in the flash flood. Also, 2 hotels have been damaged due to debris that came after the cloudburst. Apart from this, the power project has also been damaged. The gardeners’ crops and apple trees standing near Tosh Nala were also destroyed.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for 7 districts of Himachal today. Heavy rains may occur in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur. The weather will remain bad in the state till August 1.
The water level of Anjani Mahadev Nala near Palchan in Manali has also increased. Water is flowing towards the road. Due to this traffic has been disrupted on the road leading to Atal Tunnel and Leh Road. Here too, a cloud burst in the drain. Due to this shops and houses were damaged.
On Monday early morning, amidst rain, stones fell from the hill on a Bolero pickup near Parwanoo on the Chandigarh-Shimla highway. In the accident, Devraj of Punjab died, while 3 people were injured. The pickup riders were bringing newspapers from Jalandhar to Shimla.
