Himachal: Teachers of urban schools with less than 25% results to be transferred

They have been asked to provide information about the examination results of the academic sessions 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25.

Preparations are underway to take action against teachers of urban schools who have given less than 25 per cent results in the annual examinations of class 10th and 12th in the last three years. A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Education Minister Rohit Thakur at Himachal School Education Directorate, Shimla. It was decided that such teachers would be transferred to other districts. All the District Deputy Directors have been asked to submit a report in this regard within a month. They have been asked to provide information about the examination results of the academic sessions 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25.

In urban schools whose results of these classes will be between zero to 25 per cent consistently, departmental action will also be taken against the teachers, headmasters and principals appointed there as per rules. The Education Minister said that more facilities are being provided in schools in urban areas. Despite this, it is unfortunate if the examination results are poor. Strictness will now be taken in such cases. In the review meeting of the Education Department, instructions were given to make red entries in the ACR of 54 principals who gave less than 25 per cent results. These include five principals of senior secondary schools which have given low results in class XII and 23 principals of senior secondary schools and 24 principals of high schools which have given low results in class X.

Apart from this, it was decided in the meeting that show cause notices will be issued to teachers who have given low results subject-wise. If the answers of these teachers are not found satisfactory, then their annual increment will be stopped. The Education Minister also gave instructions to make surprise inspection of every school mandatory every month and to get minimum non-teaching work done by teachers. Director of School Education Ashish Kohli, Secretary of School Education Board Major Vishal Sharma and many other officials were present in the meeting.
