Himachal Weather: Huge jump in night temperature, IMD predicts snowfall on Jan 6

Shimla: Last night, heat has set a new record in Himachal Pradesh. Last night, there was a huge jump in the temperature of Shimla and Manali. The minimum temperature in Shimla has increased by 8.4 degrees from normal to 11.5 degrees Celsius and in Manali it has increased by 8.4 degrees to 7.1 degrees Celsius. In the past, the temperature in the first week of January has never been so high.

According to the Meteorological Department, this is the highest in the first week of January. But if we talk about the month of January, then last night is the second-highest minimum temperature. The record temperature in Shimla was 12.7 degrees on 24 January 2009 and the record temperature in Manali was 7.5 degrees on 25 January 2009.

This is the second record temperature in the month of January in these two cities of the state, while this is the highest minimum temperature in the first week of January to date. The minimum temperature in these two cities has never been so high in the first week of January. A huge jump has also been recorded in the minimum temperature of other cities of the state. The average minimum temperature of the state has become 4.4 degrees more than normal.

With this, the cold has also disappeared in cold areas like Shimla, Manali, Narkanda, and Kufri. At the same time, the minimum temperature of snow-covered Tabo has jumped by 9.2 degrees Celsius during the last 24 hours and the mercury of Tabo has remained at -5.5. On Wednesday night it was 14.7 degrees. The temperature of Samdo has also dropped by 6.4 degrees during 24 hours and the temperature of Keylong has decreased by 6 degrees.

At the same time, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy snowfall on January 6. According to IMD, there will be rain and snowfall in higher areas today and tomorrow as well. Rain and snowfall is forecast in most parts of the state on January 5. After heavy rain on 6, light snowfall may also occur on January 7.
