Himachal weather update: WD to active again; Temperature drops in high altitude areas

The sun will shine all over the state tomorrow as well. But the Western Disturbance is becoming active again from the day after tomorrow. Due to this, there are chances of rain again in the mountains.

On 24th and 25th April, the weather will remain bad only in the higher altitude areas. There are chances of rain in the medium and high altitude areas of the state on 26th and 27th April. The weather department’s forecast has increased the worries of farmers and gardeners, because hailstorms are causing damage to crops in the state.

During the last four-five days, the crops of apple, pea, tomato, plum and apricot have been damaged due to hailstorm in many areas of Shimla, Chamba, Una, Hamirpur, Sirmaur, Kullu and Mandi. Similarly, the temperature has dropped after fresh snowfall in the higher regions of Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur and it has become cold.

Due to this, apple flowering is getting affected. For a good apple crop, good flowering is necessary. For this, the temperature between 14 to 20 degrees Celsius is considered to be good. But after snowfall, it has dropped to 10 degrees in higher areas.

Chamba’s temperature dropped 12.7 degrees below normal

According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a slight rise in temperature today and tomorrow. During the last four-five days, the temperature had fallen below normal. Due to this, cold was felt in the high altitude areas. The maximum temperature of Chamba has dropped to 22.5 degrees after falling 12.7 degrees below normal.

Manali’s temperature dropped 8.3 degrees below normal

The temperature of Manali has dropped to 14.2 degrees after falling 8.3 degrees below normal, Keylong has dropped to 7.7 degrees after falling 5.3 degrees, and Bhuntar has dropped to 23.2 degrees Celsius after falling 5.0 degrees.
