Dharamshala: The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to start new diploma courses in agriculture and horticulture in the state’s Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). Under this initiative, one and two-year diploma programs will be available to students who have passed classes 10th and 12th from the next academic session. These courses will provide affordable and employment-oriented education to the students in important fields like agriculture and horticulture, opening up new career opportunities for the students.
This initiative of the state government is being taken to make technical education more modern. As part of this effort, the government is soon going to start special courses in emerging areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics and Data Science. These courses aim to provide students with knowledge and skills related to technologies that are changing industries globally, so that they can achieve success in these fast-growing fields.
Apart from this, the government is also working towards promoting collaboration between industries and technical institutes, so that students can get practical experience. Placement assistance programs will also be started in view of better employment prospects of the students. Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani said that the new agriculture and horticulture diploma courses will provide the necessary skills to the students and open up new employment opportunities. Along with this, teaching will be made more effective through modern digital teaching tools.
