The bus of HRTC’s Baijnath depot went out of control and rolled off the road near Dev Public School Urla on Mandi-Pathankot National Highway. Due to this, half of the bus got stuck in the air. The accident happened on Wednesday morning at 6:00 in the morning.
According to the information, HRTC bus number HP-53A 8370 filled with 25 passengers was going from Baijnath to the capital Shimla route. During the accident, the sound of the main belt breaking was heard. Driver Sandeep Kumar wisely controlled the bus and stopped it by taking support of a tree below the road. There was a ditch of about 100 meters in the fields below.
As soon as the bus went off the road, there was a scream among the passengers. Taking the bus under control, driver Sandeep Kumar asked all the passengers to get out safely. As soon as the information of the accident was received, Divisional Manager Uttam Chand reached the spot and took stock of the situation. He sent all the passengers to a safe destination in the corporation’s Volvo bus.
All the passengers narrowly escaped in the accident. The bus was pulled out with the help of a crane. Divisional Manager Uttam Chand has issued orders to investigate the accident and has sent mechanical staff to the spot. RM Baijnath Nitish Kumar confirmed the accident and said that all the passengers are safe. The bus route has been suspended due to the accident. The bus is being repaired on the spot by the mechanical staff.
