Himachal Pradesh: IIT Mandi has launched a five-year Integrated MBA (BBA Analytics (Hons) and MBA Data Science and Machine Learning) programme. It has become the first IIT to start this programme. This leading program offered by the School of Management is designed to equip students with a broad understanding of management with skills in analytics, data science, mathematics and statistics. The IMBA program also integrates relevant courses from other fields such as humanities, communication and Indian knowledge systems to ensure the holistic development of its graduates.
Director of IIT Mandi Prof. Laxmidhar Behera said that as a premier technology institute, IIT Mandi is diligently assessing the needs of the industry. With increasing reliance on data to make business decisions to gain competitive advantage, organizations are increasingly using technological tools from the fields of data science and artificial intelligence. This has resulted in an increased demand for business entrepreneurs who have in-depth understanding and skills to effectively utilize these technologies in a business environment.
To meet this demand of the industry, the MBA program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence was launched in 2022. This year we have taken a step forward by starting the five-year IMBA programme. Chairman of the School of Management, IIT Mandi, Prof. Manoj Thakur said that the program is designed to prepare students for management careers immediately after finishing school education and promote their holistic development over the course of five years.

During this programme, students will undertake two industry internships, one of which will be of six months duration, ensuring adequate exposure to the business world. This program provides youth with the opportunity to pursue a management program immediately after class 12th.
