Using illegal ambulance siren, reaches Lahaul from Rajasthan to save tax

According to the police, the ambulance driver was driving the vehicle after consuming alcohol.

Kullu: An illegal ambulance from Rajasthan reached Lahaul Spiti in Himachal Pradesh. It was caught using a siren, and the police have imposed a fine of more than 25,000 rupees on the driver of this illegal ambulance. Lahaul Police have caught the ambulance of Rajasthan at Tandi Zero Point in Lahaul.

According to the information, the district police received information that the ambulance, using an illegal siren, was roaming between Sissu and Keylong in the district. After receiving the information, the police started searching for the ambulance with an illegal siren. During this, the police personnel recovered the ambulance near Tandi Zero Point.

Accordingly, on interrogation by the police, it was found that this ambulance was illegal, and the driver was using the ambulance illegally to save tax and reach various tourist places in Lahaul without hindrance.

According to the police, the ambulance driver was driving the vehicle after consuming alcohol. SP Lahaul Spiti Mayank Chaudhary said that the police took immediate action and registered a case against the driver and the owner under sections 177, 182 (A)(4), 185, 190, and 192 (A) of the Motor Vehicles Act and for driving under the influence of alcohol. The case will soon be sent to the court.

Along with this, a heavy fine of Rs 25,500 has also been imposed on the ambulance driver under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988.
