Solan: Due to improper disposal of garbage in the solid waste management plant located in Salogra, once again the Municipal Corporation Solan has been criticized. The State Pollution Control Board has imposed a fine of nine lakh 90 thousand rupees on the Municipal Corporation Solan.
The corporation will have to pay this fine within 15 days. In case of non-payment, further action will be taken by the department. Note that this is not the first time that the corporation has been fined by the Pollution Control Board.
Even before this, many times during the tenure of the then Municipal Council and the current Municipal Corporation, fines have been imposed due to the improper solid waste management here at a plant located in Salogra. This plant has always been under question. Sometimes for the tender regarding garbage management and sometimes for improper disposal of garbage.
Assistant Engineer of Pollution Control Board Anil Rao said that the Solid Waste Management Plant located in Salogra of Municipal Corporation Solan was inspected. During this many flaws were found and the report of which was sent to the higher officials and a fine was proposed. The fine of Rs nine lakh ninty thousand has to be paid within 15 days otherwise further action will be taken against the Municipal Corporation Solan.
