Truck full of cows recover in Kullu, Police arrests driver

Kullu: In Himachal, local people have caught a truck full of cows in Madhi, a tourist city in Manali. It was being driven by a person from the Mandi district, and the local people have handed him over to the police.

According to the police, the case has been registered in the police station based on the statement of Mohammad Rafi, son of Shukardin, a resident of village Jatehar Vihal. The complainant told the police in his statement that nowadays his temporary camp is in Sagu Nala. Where he works as an animal herder. He told me that on June 20, at around 1.30 in the night, when he came out of the camp to see his cows and buffaloes, he saw that a truck was standing on the side of the road and the torchlight was on. Some people were putting a cow in a truck by tying it with ropes.

He informed the local people about this. Due to this, six people gathered. When they went near the truck, the driver of truck number HP 65B 0881 drove away. During this, they chased the truck in an auto and stopped it. Although the driver of the truck tried to escape from the spot, he was caught. It is being told that some other people have also fled from the spot.

DSP Manali KD Sharma says that the truck driver has been identified as Naresh Kumar (33) son of Daya Ram resident of village Suka Koon Post Office Sehli Tehsil Kotli District Mandi. The police have registered a case against the person under Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 and Section 379 of the IPC.

Former minister and senior BJP leader Govind Singh Thakur has surrounded the state government regarding this matter. He said that the government’s grip on law and order has become loose. He said that the government is not able to take any strict action against those who carry out such activities. Due to this, the role of the government has come under scrutiny.

On the other hand, Rahul Solanki of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has also cornered the government in the matter. He said that the state government is not able to crack down on those who carry out anti-Hindu activities. Expressing doubt, he said that the government is perhaps giving shelter to such gangs.
