In Nahan father-son duo arrest in smuggling case

Nahan: In Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district, police have succeeded in arresting three generations of a family from Nahan City who were involved in the illegal drug trade. The police have succeeded in recovering cash worth more than Rs 24 lakh and a huge amount of drugs from the arrested father, son, and grandson.

The detection cell of Sirmaur Police has made a strong strike against drugs. The police team raided the house of 71-year-old Prem Chand in Valmiki Nagar of Nahan City and recovered narcotic capsules, hashish, opium, and chitta, along with a consignment of 24.40 lakhs. According to information, this is the first such case in Sirmaur district of three generations of a family have been arrested on charges of drug trade.

According to reliable information, the operation was being carried out until midnight. The surprising thing is that his 44-year-old son and 21-year-old grandson were also involved in this business. It seems that the drug business was adopted from generation to generation. Senior Superintendent of Police of Sirmaur, Raman Kumar Meena, while confirming the case, said that strict action will continue against the drug smuggler.

While addressing the media on Monday in this connection, Additional Superintendent of Police Sirmaur Yogesh Rolta, disclosed that the accused have been identified as 71-year-old Prem Chand, son of the late Bachna Ram; 44-year-old Sagar, son of Prem Chand; and 21-year-old Sangram, alias Anshul, son of Sagar, all residents of house number 372/11, Valmiki Basti Nahan, near Red Cross Road Petrol Pump. 336 Spasmax Tramadol capsules, 159.80 grams of hashish, 38.10 grams of opium, 23.34 grams of heroin (heroin), and cash worth Rs 24.40 lakh have been recovered from the possession of the accused. The accused are being produced in court.
