Sirmaur: In Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, 95 children have never seen school till now. The survey conducted this year under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, it has been found that 95 such children in the Sirmaur district are in the age group of 6 to 14 years and have never gone to school. All these children are from the families of migrant labourers and workers coming from outside. In industrial areas like Kala Amb, Paonta Sahib, etc.

In the Sirmaur district, such migrant workers come to the district with their families to work, and their children are also included, who help the families in the work. In such a situation, this class is completely dependent on earning a livelihood. At the same time, the children of these families do not show interest in fulfilling basic needs like education.

In the survey conducted this year under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, 95 children were identified in the district.

Now, under the campaign itself, a non-residential special training center is being started for them. DIET Nahan coordinator Lekhraj said that NRST centers are being started for such children in education blocks Surla, Paonta, and Majra, in which all kinds of facilities, including TLM, school books, and shoes, are being provided along with incentives to connect such children to the mainstream of education under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan so that children deprived of education can get an education. On the other hand, under the new education policy, a baseline survey of those students in Sirmaur has also started in all education blocks, which includes school dropout children. (HDM)

DIET Nahan coordinator Lekhraj said that a drop-out survey of children in the age group of 15 to 18 years has been started in district Sirmaur, in which such children who went to school earlier but have now left school will be encouraged to continue further studies. It is noteworthy that school dropout children, who often leave school after class 10, are being connected to education through SOS.
