Himacahal Pradesh: The incidents of fire in the forests of the state are continuously increasing. 97 new incidents of fire have come to light in the last 24 hours. In this summer season, till May 20, 503 incidents of fire have been registered in 12 circles of the state. In the last one and a half month, forest wealth on 991.44 acres of land has been reduced to ashes in these fire incidents across the state. With increasing temperature, incidents of forest fire have started increasing.
There has been a loss of lakhs of rupees due to fire in plantation, natural and other areas. Talking about the state, Dharamshala Circle has the highest number of incidents with 140, Hamirpur is second with 97 incidents.
According to forest department data, till May 20 evening, there were 48 forest incidents in Bilaspur, 14 in Chamba, one in GHNP Kullu Circle, 79 in Mandi, 71 in Nahan, nine in Rampur, 17 in Shimla, 46 in Solan and three in WL North. Have been registered in. In pine forests, when the leaves fall in February and March, nothing grows beneath them. Many animals and birds also get burnt to death due to forest fire. Bird eggs also get burnt. There is no record of these either. Only forest wealth is included in the records, whereas even valuable herbs are not assessed in it.
