Dharamshala, June 10: A case of disappearance of an Israeli citizen has come to light from the trekking route Triund in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The missing Samuel Vengrinovic (aged 35 to 40 years) went on a trek on June 6, but did not return till night.
Samuel’s friend Ediblam informed the McLeodganj police about this on Monday. Samuel is staying in the Dharamkot area. She said that 5 people had come to Himachal for a trip. But Samuel Vengrinovic got lost somewhere while trekking.
The Kangra district administration launched an immediate search operation after receiving information about the disappearance of Samuel Vengrinovic.
Joint teams of police, SDRF and DDMA are searching in Triund, Indrahar Pass, Jot and nearby inaccessible areas. The search operation is still on, but no trace of Samuel Vengrinovic has been found.
Appeal to inform local people
The Kangra district administration has appealed to tourists and trekkers to inform the local police before going out for trekking and to follow the weather, safety and route-related guidelines.

SSP Kangra Shalini Agnihotri said that, considering the seriousness of the matter, information about it has been sent to the Israeli Embassy in Delhi through the state government. The administration is constantly monitoring the search operation, and the teams are on high alert.
