Joint raid by Income Tax and ED in jeweller and liquor businessman shops in Hamirpur

In Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur city, a joint raid by Income Tax (IT) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday morning created a stir in the city. Raids are being conducted at different establishments and residences of a big jeweller of Hamirpur and 2 liquor contractor families since 5.30 am.

Hamirpur: In Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur city, a joint raid by Income Tax (IT) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday morning created a stir in the city. Raids are being conducted at different establishments and residences of a big jeweller of Hamirpur and 2 liquor contractor families since 5.30 am.

Apart from IT and ED, CRPF jawans are also guarding outside their shops and residences.

Apart from Hamirpur, IT and ED raids are also being reported in Una and Naidun. Raid has been conducted at the residence of liquor businessman in Una and hardware businessman in Naidun and documents are being searched. The joint action of central agencies has created a stir among the traders.

Shutters of jeweller’s shop were opened

Especially in Hamirpur city, traders are scared and frightened. In Hamirpur, the shutters of a jeweler’s shop were opened after 10.30 am. Till then the IT and ED team were searching documents at the jeweler’s house. Officers and employees of both the investigation agencies are investigating the shops and residences, while CRPF jawans are deployed outside their establishments.

Raid on the residence of a liquor businessman in Pakka Bharo and Bohni

Raid is going on outside the residence of a liquor businessman in Pakka Bharo and Bohni area in Hamirpur. CRPF jawans are guarding outside his house. No one is being allowed to go in or out.

Action regarding property related information

If sources are to be believed, this raid has been conducted regarding property related information. This matter seems to be related to the payment of income tax. About one and a half dozen vehicles with PB number had reached the city after 5:15 am.
