• It will not take long to become flying Himachal: A day before, on Thursday, Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla had called a press conference in Shimla on drug abuse. Expressing concern over drug abuse, he had said, “If the situation remains the same, it will not take long to become flying Himachal. The Himachal government is not serious about opening a de-addiction centre. There is talk of building a de-addiction centre in Sirmaur, but there is no mention of when it will be built. • MLAs did not show interest: He further said that Himachal Raj Bhawan has worked beyond its limits against drug abuse. Various works have been done by calling various panchayat representatives, organizing sports competitions, starting a column for not consuming drugs in the admission form of all students in the university and will continue to do so. He had written letters to all the MLAs and requested them to organize anti-drug programs in their respective assembly constituencies, but the effort was not possible. Most of the MLAs did not show interest.
