Kangra: In the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, six tourists went down to take a bath in Banair Khad, , this morning. During this, the water level of the ravine suddenly increased, and all the tourists got stuck in the middle of the ravine. After a lot of hard work, the local administration rescued the tourists.
According to the information, the tourists who came to Himachal from Lonavala in Maharashtra reached Banair Khad at around 9 a.m. and started bathing to escape the heat. Seeing the water level suddenly rise, everyone got scared and could not run away. After this, the local people rescued everyone safely.
The Himachal government is repeatedly appealing to tourists as well as the local people not to go to the rivers, streams, and landslide-prone areas.
Ignoring the government’s advisory, tourists are getting down into the rivers. Due to rain on high mountains, the water level of rivers and streams suddenly increases. Due to this, tourists get stuck.
The same thing happened in Kangra’s Banair Khad because it has been raining in Kangra since last night. 75.6 mm of rain has been recorded in Kangra. Dharamshala, Palampur, McLeodganj, etc. areas have also received rain.
The weather department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in five districts today. A yellow alert for rain has been issued for the next six days. Some tourists are also risking their lives.
