Shimla: A landslide occurred on the Kalka-Shimla four-lane connecting the capital of Himachal Pradesh this afternoon. The danga installed on the four-lane near Kumarhatti in Solan district collapsed like a pack of cards.
Fortunately, no vehicle came in its grip. After the dam collapsed, the Solan side lane of the highway was closed for vehicles and traffic movement was disrupted. After this, traffic is being run from the other lane. At the same time, some vehicles are being sent to Solan via Barog.
It is being told that a dam about 30 feet high was installed near Hotel Inn in Kumarhatti to stop the landslide from the hill, which has now collapsed.
The construction work of the Shimla-Kalka four-lane is not yet complete. But even before this, the four-lane is getting damaged repeatedly. This is also raising questions about the quality of the four-lane.
Due to this, many tragic accidents have happened on the Kalka-Shimla four-lane. Former Deputy Mayor of Shimla Tikendra Panwar has also challenged the quality and unscientific cutting of mountains in the Himachal High Court.
