Kullu: A private bus fell into a gorge in Anni of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh this morning. Two people including the bus driver died in this accident, while 25 passengers on the bus are reported to be injured. Police took all the injured to the hospital with the help of local people registered a case and started further action.
SHO Anni Panchhi Lal said that the bus driver Dinanath and another had died. He said that there were 42 people on the bus including the driver-conductor. All the injured have been taken from the spot to Civil Hospital Ani, where treatment is going on.
Seven seriously injured persons have been referred to Rampur. The driver died on the spot, while the other passenger took his last breath in the hospital.
According to the information, the bus was going from Karsog to Anni and met with an accident at around 10:45 am. This accident occurred in Karanthal between Ani and Shavad. The reasons for the accident have not been known yet.
According to the information, the bus fell into a ditch about 120 meters below the road. After this, there was a lot of commotion and panic on the spot. People passing by informed the police about this accident. After this, the injured were taken to the hospital with the help of private vehicles and ambulances.
The local administration is giving immediate relief of Rs 5,000 each to the injured and Rs 25,000 to the dependents of the deceased.
Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu expressed grief over the accident. He said that instructions have been given to the department for better treatment and medical assistance of the injured.
