Manali Winter Carnival: Over 1500 women in traditional costume perform ‘Mahanati’

Manali: On the second day of the national level Manali Winter Carnival on Tuesday, the Mahanati of Mahila Mandals was the center of attraction on the Mall Road of Manali. About 1500 women danced together and created a stir among the people there. Wearing a black three-flowered pattu, silver boomani, chandrahaar, locket, and red dhathoo, the women danced for about an hour. Tourists were also forced to keep pace with the women. About 90 Mahila Mandals participated in the Mahanati.

Yesterday, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu sang a song from a famous Hindi film released in 1970 on the first cultural evening of the national-level Winter Carnival. During this, folk singers and the audience were also seen humming the lyrics of the song with the CM.

The CM hummed the lyrics of ‘Jeena Yahan, Marna Yahan, Iske Siva Jana Kahan’ from Raj Kapoor’s super hit Hindi film ‘Mera Naam Joker’ released in 1970 with the singer on the stage.

During this, MLA Bhuvaneshwar Gaud, RS Bali, and other dignitaries were present. The CM hummed the lyrics of the song ‘Jee chahe jab humko awaaz do hum hain wahi hum the jahan… apne yahin dono jahan, iske siva jana kahan…’.

During this, the audience present there encouraged the CM. It is worth mentioning that this song was sung by the famous playback singer Mukesh. Even today, this evergreen song is on the lips of every music lover. On the other hand, the Chief Minister returned from Manali at 11:45 am on Tuesday. The Chief Minister left for Dharamshala from Manali. Before this, he met the local people at the Circuit House Manali and heard their problems.
