Mandi: District Magistrate Mandi Arindam Chaudhary has ordered the petrol pump operators of the district to maintain minimum reserve of petrol and diesel for emergency needs in view of the truck drivers’ strike. He has issued this order in view of the possible shortage of petrol diesel supply in the district due to the strike and its impact on emergency and essential services.
According to the order issued, petrol pump operators have been asked to keep minimum reserve for emergency needs as per the storage capacity of the pump. It has been ordered to keep a reserve of 3000 liters of diesel and 2000 liters of petrol in petrol pumps with storage capacity of more than 25000 liters and 2000 liters of diesel and 1000 liters of petrol in petrol pumps with storage capacity of less than 25000 liters.
Apart from this, it has also been instructed in the order that no dealer should refill more than 10 liters at a time. In case of urgency, prior approval of the concerned SDM will be required. Petrol diesel will not be allowed to be carried in any type of container.
Emergency vehicles (ambulance, fire brigade etc.) and public transport will be given priority in refueling. During this period, hoarding and black marketing of petrol and diesel will be dealt with strictly. Strict legal action will be taken against those violating the order as per Section 3(1) (c) of the Himachal Pradesh Hoarding and Profiteering Enforcement Order 1977.
