Chamba: In Chamba, a medical store owner was selling narcotic drugs to students, on which a joint team of police and drug inspector took action today. This action was taken in Dutta village of Salooni. A large amount of illegal narcotic drugs were recovered by raiding this medical store which was running without a license.
The police had received a tip-off that the accused, Aashiq Mohammad (35), was selling drugs to school and college students. The team raided the accused’s shop, house and cowshed. A large quantity of illegal narcotic tablets and capsules were recovered from there.
The accused Aashiq Mohammad is a resident of Dutta village. The police sealed all the medicines on the spot. A case has been registered against the accused under the Drug and Cosmetic Act. According to police sources, the accused was involved in this illegal business for a long time.
DSP Ranjan Sharma has confirmed the case. The local administration has assured strict action against such illegal medical stores and drug sales. The police have appealed to the people to immediately inform the administration about such illegal activities.
