Hamirpur: The Model Code of Conduct has once again come into force in Himachal. However, its maximum impact will be seen in three districts.
But even at the state level, the state government will have to take permission from the Election Department before taking such decisions which can affect the voters of the entire state. The Model Code of Conduct has come into force from Monday as soon as the schedule of by-elections in three assembly constituencies was decided.
However, there will be no impact on the work in the other nine districts of the state outside these. The work which was stalled after the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct during the Lok Sabha elections in other districts will be able to start again. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dalip Negi said that the Model Code of Conduct has been implemented.
The Election Commission has already set guidelines regarding the Model Code of Conduct. He said that the Model Code of Conduct will have a direct impact in three districts. In these districts, any decision that affects the voters will not be implemented till July 14. Apart from this, decisions that will be taken at the state level, which will affect the voters of the entire state, will have to be informed to the State Election Department before taking them.
After the implementation of the model code of conduct, many cases related to employees have got stuck. These include decisions like regularizing the employees who have completed two years of service, giving old pension to the employees in the electricity board, and starting a scheme of Rs 1500 for women. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dalip Negi said that all political parties have been called upon to strictly follow the model code of conduct.
