Monsoon Havoc in Himachal: 398 roads closed, Rs 1246 crore loss, 132 dead so far

Due to this, both Vikrant and Rajesh, who were travelling in the vehicle, got seriously injured. They are undergoing treatment at Khaneri Hospital in Rampur. This accident happened at around 10 pm.

This accident happened at around 10 pm on Monday night. After this, Sainj-Luhri NH 305 remained closed for vehicles for 10 hours.

There is an alert of heavy rain in the state even today. In view of the rising water level in the rivers and streams, an alert has been issued to release water from Jhakhri and Koldam of NJPC. Water has been released from the Koldam located in Bilaspur of the state at 07:15 am. Due to this, the water level of the river has increased by 4 to 5 meters. In view of this, the people of Punjab have been advised not to go near the river.

Holiday in schools of 2 divisions of Mandi district

In view of heavy rains and the condition of roads and paths, SDM has declared holiday for students in all educational institutions in Karsog and Sundarnagar sub divisions of Mandi district. In Sundarnagar, non-teaching staff has been called to school.

Orange alert in Kangra and Chamba

There is a warning of heavy rain in 2 districts of Himachal even today. Meteorological Center Shimla has issued an orange alert in Chamba and Kangra districts today. Due to heavy rains in these districts, incidents of waterlogging, landslides and floods can be seen. In view of this, people have been asked to be cautious.

A yellow alert for rain has been issued in Una, Mandi and Sirmaur districts today. In other districts, the weather is forecast to be clear or the sky will be lightly cloudy. Tomorrow there is a yellow alert for rain in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Sirmaur districts. The day after tomorrow, the weather is expected to be clear across the state except Sirmaur district.

398 roads including 3 NHs and 682 electricity transformers are closed

Heavy rains have occurred in Mandi, Chamba, Kangra, Shimla and Sirmaur districts during the last 24 hours. Due to this, 398 roads including 3 national highways, 682 electricity transformers and 151 drinking water schemes are closed across the state.

3 died in 24 hours

A newly married couple in Chamba and a young man in Mandi died after being swept away in a ravine. 132 people have died this monsoon season, while 34 people are missing. 28 people have lost their lives due to cloudburst, floods and landslides.

Property worth Rs 1246 crore damaged

Monsoon rains in the state have caused damage to private and government property worth Rs 1246 crore. Due to this, 393 houses have been completely destroyed, while more than 700 houses have suffered partial damage.
