HP WEATHER: Flash flood alert in Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur

Due to continuous rain during the last 24 hours, the temperature has dropped by 2 degrees Celsius.

Shimla: The monsoon in Himachal Pradesh can take a big turn in the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for 48 hours. During this period, heavy rains are expected across the state.

The maximum impact of the orange alert will be seen in Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, and Kangra. The Meteorological Department has advised the administration to remain alert in all seven districts. Out of these, cloudburst incidents are also expected in Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur.

Here, heavy rains with thunderstorms are expected in most parts, and rivers and streams are expected to overflow. Roads, electricity, and drinking water schemes may be affected by rain. The Meteorological Department has advised the district administration and departments to remain alert. Earlier, in the last 24 hours, there has been an impact of rain in different parts of the state. During this period, 11 mm of rain was recorded in Sundernagar and Palampur, 8 mm in Shimla, Gohar, Solan, and Mashobra, 7 mm in Jogendranagar and Baijnath, 5 mm in Mandi, 5 mm in Bharari, 4 mm in Kangra, 3 mm in Sainj, 3 mm in Dharamsala, and 2 mm in Sarkaghat, Karsog, and Arki.

Due to continuous rain during the last 24 hours, the temperature has dropped by 2 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Una was recorded at 33.6 degrees Celsius, which is the highest in the state. On Thursday, the temperature in Shimla remained at 22.4 degrees Celsius. Which is the lowest level of the season.
