Dalhousie: A case of assault in a hotel and the death of the hotel’s general manager came to light on New Year’s Eve in Dalhousie, a famous tourist destination of Himachal Pradesh. Police personnel have been named as accused of assault. The police have registered a case and started further action. The police have arrested 2 constables.
Angry with the murder of the hotel employee, the local people blocked the road at Banikhet bus stand. They staged a sit-in protest for more than two hours and demanded strict action against the accused police personnel. SP Chamba Abhishek Yadav reached the spot at quarter to two in the afternoon. After his persuasion and assurance of strict action, the villagers calmed down.
According to the information, three police personnel were on duty near Bahlun Cantt last night. DSP Hemant Thakur said that after finishing the duty at one o’clock in the night, the personnel went to have dinner at Nature Valley Hotel Banikhet.
The DSP said that police constable Anoop had an argument and fight with hotel employee Sachin over some issue. Then the hotel’s general manager Rajendr Malhotra and another waiter were trying to separate them. The fight was settled after their persuasion.
But after some time, they got into a scuffle again near the hotel’s parking area. During this, general manager Rajendra Malhotra died after falling from a height. Hotel employee Sachin is seriously injured.
The postmortem of the deceased’s body is being done. The deceased general manager is a resident of Khajjiar, while Sachin’s condition remains critical.
