Himachal Pradesh : The nomination process in Himachal for the elections for four parliamentary seats and six assembly constituencies in the state will start from today after a two-day break. Nominations can be filed till May 14.
In such a situation, now two days are left for nomination. During this time, among the big names from BJP, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur will file nomination from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency, Kangana Ranaut from Mandi and Suresh Kashyap from Shimla parliamentary constituency.
Whereas, Vinod Sultanpuri from Congress will file nomination from Shimla parliamentary constituency. Apart from this, nomination papers will also be filed for the by-elections of six assembly constituencies. The sorting of nomination papers will take place on May 15 and nominations can be withdrawn till May 17. On the other hand, the last date of application for elderly and disabled voters above 85 years of age and voting from home was fixed till May 12.
More than 1.35 lakh elderly and disabled people are eligible to vote from home in the state. They have to get the benefit of this facility only after applying. They had the provision to apply offline to the concerned District Election Officers and Assistant Election Officers. The figures of how many people applied under this will be revealed on Monday.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur will file nomination in Hamirpur on Monday. At the same time, Congress candidate from Shimla parliamentary seat Vinod Sultanpuri will file nomination in Shimla. Anurag Thakur will file nomination before parliamentary constituency returning officer Amarjeet Singh. He will reach Hamirpur along with his supporters from his ancestral residence Sameerpur.
During this time, State BJP President Dr. Rajeev Bindal, District BJP President Deshraj Sharma and other leaders will be present. On the other hand, at the time of nomination of Vinod Sultanpuri in Shimla, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and cabinet members will be with him. During this time a rally will be organized at Chaura Maidan in Shimla.
