Noorpur : In view of the safety of people and property, SDM Gursimar Singh, using the powers given under Section 144 of CrPC, has designated places for storage and sale of green firecrackers in Noorpur and Jasur city on Diwali festival.
Under these orders issued by SDM, for licensed and permitted firecracker sellers, Chaugan Ground Ward No. 1, Sukha Talab MC Park Ward No. 2 and 3, Valmiki Park Ward No. 4, Indira Colony Park Ward No. 5 and 6 of Noorpur city, Nayazpur Bus Stand Ward No. 9 and 7 including Ram Leela Ground Ward No. 8 have been identified for the sale of green firecrackers.
Apart from this, firecrackers can be sold only in the open area near Ram Leela Ground, GSS School Ground and Vegetable Market in Jasur Bazaar. As per the orders passed from time to time by the Honorable National Green Tribunal, only green firecrackers will be allowed to be sold on Diwali.
SDM said that on the day of Diwali, the time for sale of firecrackers at the identified places will be from 8 am to 8 pm whereas the general public will be allowed to burst firecrackers only from 8 pm to 10 pm.
He has asked all firecracker stockists and sellers to ensure complete compliance with the orders passed from time to time by the Honorable Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal. He has also appealed to the people to use green crackers on Diwali while being fully conscious towards environmental protection.
