Shimla: There will be heavy rain and hailstorm in Himachal Pradesh for the next 48 hours. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for rain, hailstorm and strong storm in 6 districts of the state today and 9 districts tomorrow. In view of this, people have been asked to be cautious.
IMD has issued an orange alert in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Lahaul Spiti districts today. Heavy rains may occur at some places in these districts. During this time, hailstorms and storms can also cause devastation at many places.
Along with these 6 districts, Solan, Sirmour and Bilaspur have also been warned of heavy rain, hailstorm and storm with a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour tomorrow. Yellow alert has been issued in other districts. The weather is forecast to remain bad in the state on April 20 as well.
Know when Orange Alert is issued
Let us tell you that a yellow alert is issued when there is less possibility of heavy rain and hailstorm. When there is more possibility, an orange alert is issued and in a scary situation, a red alert is issued.
More than 50 houses lost their roofs
The storm has also wreaked havoc in the state on Wednesday midnight. The roofs of more than 50 houses and cow sheds have been blown away. Dozens of trees have been uprooted. Apple orchards have also suffered heavy damage.
Relief from heat after rain
After the rain on Wednesday night, the people of the state have got relief from the heat. Due to this, a drop in temperature has been recorded. The average maximum temperature of the state has remained 1.8 degrees more than normal, which was 4 degrees more till four days ago.
After the rain today and tomorrow, the temperature will decrease by 5 to 7 degrees. But from April 21, the temperature will rise again.
