Himachal Pradesh: Pathankot-Mandi National Highway has become a cause of trouble for drivers these days. Due to the construction of the four-lane, the road gets closed due to landslides, and at other places the road gets blocked due to the falling of huge rocks. In Trilokpur, which falls under subdivision Jawali, water is leaking from the hill due to the construction of the fourlane, due to which the road has become swampy and muddy. Due to swamp and mud on the road, traffic jams have become a common occurrence.
Small four-wheelers also get stuck in the mud and two-wheelers skid. Due to the machinery of the company engaged in the construction of the fourlane and the swampy road, every vehicle is passing through this national highway slowly. In the scorching heat, the drivers are getting troubled by getting stuck in the jam. Drivers and passengers are sweating profusely due to traffic jams. Government and private buses on long routes are getting delayed due to traffic jams. When people sitting in buses and other two-wheelers and four-wheelers get stuck in traffic jams, they curse the administration.
Tourists are also getting troubled due to traffic jams. Some vehicles are passing through via Solda, but due to lack of sufficient space to cross on this single route, traffic jams occur for hours. It is difficult for heavy vehicles to pass through this route. Horns can be heard everywhere from the vehicles stuck in the traffic jam. Intellectuals said that the four-lane work on this route should be expedited so that the drivers and commuters do not have to face problems.
