Hamirpur: Villagers of three villages coming under Gram Panchayat Duggha do not want to join the Municipal Corporation. Villagers reached Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur on Friday with the demand of not joining the Municipal Corporation. Here people submitted an application to the Deputy Commissioner for not being included in the Municipal Corporation.
Villagers say that joining the Municipal Corporation will put an additional burden of tax on them. Rural people live in the village and cannot pay additional tax. Villagers also say that they are getting all kinds of facilities from the Panchayat. In such a situation, they should be allowed to live in the Panchayat area itself. Villagers of Lahad, Duggha Khurd, Jasor villages coming under Gram Panchayat Duggha met the Deputy Commissioner.
Villagers say that the notification issued by the Urban Development Department. It has become clear from this that the villages coming under Duggha Panchayat are being included in Municipal Corporation Hamirpur. Villagers say that they do not want to join the Municipal Corporation because people’s participation is more in Panchayat Raj institutions.
