Shimla: This time the poll day monitoring system has been improved, to get the quick and accurate results can be seen online during the counting of votes. This information was given by Chief Electoral Officer Manish Garg. Instructions were given to further increase the activity of flying squads and static surveillance team in the parliamentary constituency, so that their better presence can be registered at the ground level.

Earlier, in view of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Deputy Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India Manoj Kumar Sahu took stock of the ongoing election preparations in the state through virtual conference on Monday.

Chief Electoral Officer, Himachal Pradesh Manish Garg and Returning Officers of all parliamentary constituencies, District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police also joined online.

During this, Returning Officer and District Election Officer Shimla Anupam Kashyap and Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi gave him detailed information about the election preparations. Manoj Kumar Sahu said that in view of elections, storage and transportation of EVMs is very important, in which there is no scope for any kind of mistake.

There is less time for voting and counting in Himachal Pradesh. Therefore, make sure to start preparations for counting of votes from now. He also directed to ensure all facilities in the polling stations run by women, so that women workers do not face any inconvenience. Along with this, he directed the District Election Officers to strictly inspect the training being given to the polling personnel, so that the Presiding and Assistant Presiding Officers do not make any kind of mistake during the elections.

He informed that the State Clearing Center for Postal Ballot has been set up at ITI Chauda Ground, where exchange of postal ballots will take place on 22nd, 28th May and 2nd June.
