Shimla : Himachal Pradesh may soon get relief from scorching heat. According to the Meteorological Department, Western disturbance is getting active.
Due to this, there is a forecast of rain in high and medium altitude areas for the next four-five days. Tomorrow, on June 1, the day of voting, it may rain in most parts of the state. Due to this, the people of the state will not have to face bright sunshine during voting.
Heatwave was felt for last 14 days in the state. Due to this, people are in distress. Schools have to be closed in many districts till May 31. However, during the last 24 hours, there has been a slight drop in temperature after rain and drizzle in some places of the state Shimla, Mandi, Kullu and Chamba. But there is no relief from heat in the plains.
Temperature of 7 cities crossed 40
The temperature of seven cities of the state is crossing 40 degrees Celsius. Hamirpur’s Neri has the highest temperature of 45.6 degrees, Dhaula Kuan 42.6 degrees, Barthi 40.5 degrees, Sundarnagar 40.2 degrees, Una 43.8 degrees, Bilaspur 41.9 degrees and Hamirpur 41.5 degrees Celsius. However, two days ago, Una had reached 46 degrees and Neri 46.3 degrees.
Heatwave alert in six districts today
For today, heatwave alert has been issued in six districts Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Solan and lower areas of Sirmaur district. That means there is no relief from heat in the lower areas even today.
Chances of rain in these districts today too
There may be light rain today at some places in Shimla, Kullu, Chamba and Mandi districts. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain bad till May 2, while from May 3 onwards, light rain may occur only in the higher areas for the next three days. The weather will become clear in the plains and medium altitude areas.
