A slip of Rs 10 has been made mandatory for patients in all hospitals of Himachal Pradesh. The government has taken this decision to strengthen the services provided by the Rogi Kalyan Samiti, cleanliness, health, infrastructure and maintenance of equipment. The Health Secretary has issued a notification regarding this.
This fee will be collected by the Rogi Kalyan Samiti in hospitals. The Health Secretary said in his orders that this decision has been taken on the recommendation of the Cabinet Sub Committee. Till now, slips were made free of cost in all government hospitals. But, the present government has changed this year-old system.
Similarly, the 14 categories of patients who were getting X-rays and tests done for free will also have to pay the fee now.
Behind this, Health Minister Dr. Dhaniram Shandil had argued last month that people do not keep the free slip safely, which also causes trouble to the doctors. If it costs Rs 10 to make a slip, then people will keep it safely. He said that this fee is also charged in PGI Chandigarh.
12 to 15 thousand patients get treatment in government hospitals every day
In the state, 3000 to 4000 patients reach IGMC Shimla alone every day for treatment. Similarly, the OPD in the state’s medical colleges and hospitals is 700 to 2000 people every day. In this way, 12 to 15 thousand patients reach all the medical institutions of the state every day for treatment. Now everyone will have to pay 10 rupees.
