Shimla: The process of land allocation for setting up a water plant for hydrogen gas by the Railway Board has been completed. After which, the hydrogen train will run on the World Heritage Kalka-Shimla railway track till 2025.

The running of this train will save fuel. At the same time, tourists will be provided with the best facilities on this train, and the environment will also remain beautiful. A trial has also been taken by the railway regarding this. In such a situation, it is expected that the number of tourists will increase with the running of this train.

The work of land allocation for setting up plants in Shimla and Barog has been completed. This project is being taken forward under the supervision of the Railway Board itself. Hydrogen fuel is cheaper and pollution-free than oil or electricity. Regarding running hydrogen trains on the Kalka-Shimla railway track, the Railway Board has selected three places to set up water plants for making gas.

Hydrogen is considered a pollution-free, clean fuel. The use of hydrogen fuel results in zero emissions of harmful gases, and only water vapor is emitted, which is considered clean and environmentally friendly. The railways aim to convert diesel-powered locomotives (engines) into hydrogen engines so that green fuel-based trains can be provided.

These train coaches will have CCTV cameras, heaters, digital boards, and mobile charger points. The engine will be connected to all three coaches. Let us tell you that this train will reach Shimla in 4 hours instead of 5 hours. Three sets of hydrogen trains will be run on the Kalka-Shimla railway track, where facilities like Vande Bharat will be made available to tourists.
