Proposal to build longest bridge at Pong lake in Kangra, Read to know more

There is a plan to build the longest bridge of the state at Pong Lake in the Kangra district. There is a proposal to build a three-kilometer bridge on Pong Lake under the Setu Bandhan Yojana under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). The width of the bridge will be about 10 meters. The Public Works Department Division Dehra has completed the survey and prepared the DPR. Based on the DPR, it is estimated that about Rs 374 crore will be spent to build this bridge. The DPR has been sent to the government for approval.

The bridge will be constructed from Malot village (Bongta Panchayat) of Dehra to Muchkund Mahadev temple adjoining Ghiori Panchayat. The people of Jaswan-Paragpur, Dehra and Jawali constituency will benefit the most from the construction of the bridge.

Till now, the people of Dadasiba area have to travel 50 to 70 km to go to areas like Haripur, Guler, Nagarota Suriya and Jawali. With the construction of the bridge, the population of about 50 thousand in the area will have to travel 25 to 30 km less. People will not have to travel via Dehra city.

This proposed bridge on the man-made Pong lake (spread over 60,610 acres) on the Beas river will be the longest bridge in the state. Till now, the bridge built on the Swan river connecting Haroli of Una district to Rampur of Una is the longest. Its length is 773.30 meters.

The DPR of the bridge to be built on Pong lake has been prepared. It has been sent to the state government for approval. He said that the cost of this bridge will be around 374 crores and its length will be around three kilometers.
