Himachal Pradesh: The Public Works Department has opened the Chamba-Kilad via Sach Pass road, which passes at a height of about 14,500 feet, for the movement of small vehicles after about eight months by removing the snow accumulated by meters. However, it will take time for the movement of big vehicles to become smooth on the Sach Pass road. With the opening of the Sach Pass road for vehicular movement, the people of Pangi Valley have got a big relief.
With the commencement of vehicular movement on this road, Pangi Valley has also got direct contact with the district headquarters. Dinesh Kumar Sharma, XEN of the Public Works Department, Pangi Division, has confirmed the news.
Due to the closure of the Sach Pass road after snowfall in winter, the people of Pangi Valley had to reach Chamba by covering a long distance of about 750 kilometers via Jammu or Kullu, but with the opening of the Sach Pass road, this distance will now be reduced to 172 kilometers. The Public Works Department on Saturday conducted a trial of movement through government vehicles after removing snow from the Sach Pass road. During this trial, the narrow parts of the road were repaired. On Saturday evening, the Public Works Department has given the green signal to start the movement of vehicles on the road.
From Sunday morning, small vehicles will start running smoothly on the Sach Pass road. It is noteworthy that last year on July 3, the Sach Pass road was opened for the movement of vehicles, but this year the Public Works Department has made the movement of vehicles normal by removing the snow accumulated on the Sach Pass road according to meters about 25 days ago.
On the other hand, Dinesh Kumar Sharma, XEN of Public Works Department Pangi Division, said that the Sach Pass road has been opened for the movement of small vehicles. Vehicles will be able to pass through the Sach Pass road from Sunday. The trial to start the movement of small vehicles on the Sach Pass road on Saturday has been successful.
