Himachal Pradesh: A Rajasthan youth’s trip to Solan with his friends proved to be costly. On this trip, a 19-year-old youth died after a stone fell from the hill at Rewa Water Falls in Ashwini Khad and hit his head. The deceased was a student of National Law University Delhi and had come to Himachal with a 13-member team of students from his university.
The police handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem.
DSP Anil Dhaulta said that on Thursday evening, information was received by phone from Regional Hospital Solan that a youth was brought to the hospital in critical condition, but he had died. On receiving the information, the police left for Rewa Water Fall Ashwini Khad after the hospital and on investigation it was found that a group of 13 students from National Law University Delhi had come to Himachal for a trip. After visiting Mohan Heritage Park, the students headed towards Rewa Waterfall and decided to take a bath there given the heat.
At around 5 pm, all the students were taking off their clothes to take a bath when suddenly a stone fell from the hill and hit the head of the student standing below, Akshat Dev, son of Alok Kumar Meena, resident of A-9 JP Colony Tonk Phatak VTC Jaipur Rajasthan, due to which Akshat became unconscious and a lot of blood started flowing from his head.
After the incident, the students who came along with him took the unconscious student to the Regional Hospital Solan with the help of the people around, but by then he had died. DSP Anil Dhaulta said that a case has been registered under Sadar Police Station Solan and the body has been handed over to the family after post-mortem.
