“New Initiative in Himachal Pradesh: Ration Depots Expand Availability Across the State”

There are currently a total of 19 lakh, 60 thousand, and 467 ration card holders in the state.

Shimla: The ration will now be available from ultra-modern new POS machines in more than 5,100 depots across the state. The tender period with the POS machine company running till now has been completed, while the process of providing new machines to the depots across the state will be started soon, including the finalization of the tender, and the process of distributing them in the depots and running them will also be started soon. Due to this, now ration card holders will be able to get rations with biometrics and OTP on mobile and will also get a confirmed bill. Till now, instead of a machine bill, most consumers were given fake bills by hand by the depot holders, but now a digital bill will be made according to the goods purchased by the consumer.

Now, high-tech digital POS machines will be provided in the cheap ration depots. In such a situation, more than 19 lakh consumers across the state will no longer have to be disappointed about the fingerprints of rations not being scanned in the cheap ration depots. OTP, biometric scanning, and bills will also be generated for consumers by high-tech machines. In such a situation, there will now be more transparency in ration distribution. -HDM
