The High Court today heard the anticipatory bail plea of former MD and IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation (HPPCL) Harikesh Meena. The court has extended Meena’s anticipatory bail till July 14. In the next hearing, the CBI will present the status report of the investigation in the court.
Let us tell you that Harikesh Meena has filed an anticipatory bail plea in the High Court to avoid arrest. Till the last hearing (June 5), the state government was a party in this case. But now CBI has become a party, because the Himachal High Court has given this case to the central agency.
The High Court has handed over the investigation of this case to the CBI on the petition of Vimal Negi’s wife. CBI has filed an FIR in this case in Delhi 21 days ago. Now the central agency is continuously investigating this case. So far, statements of more than 25 people have been recorded in this case.
Family members accuse 3 officers of harassment The officers on whom Vimal Negi’s family has accused of harassment have also been questioned several times. Sources say that CBI can also arrest an officer soon.
