There is a possibility of reshuffle in the bureaucracy of Himachal Pradesh soon. Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena is going to retire this month. After this, speculation has intensified about who will be the head of the bureaucracy. If the government considers seniority, then the name of 1988 batch IAS Sanjay Gupta comes first. After him is 1993 batch officer KK Pant. IAS officer Omkar Sharma, who belongs to Chamba district, is of 1994 batch. His name is also included in the race for Chief Secretary.
Speculation is being made on the names of these three officers in the bureaucracy. The decision of the head of the bureaucracy is to be taken by CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. On the other hand, 1990 batch IAS officer Prabodh Saxena became the Chief Secretary on December 31, 2022. Due to retirement this month, he has now applied for the post of Chairman of Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). Along with him, 14 more administrative officers have applied for this.
The tenure of the chairman post in RERA is five years. In such a situation, the bureaucracy is interested in this post. Himachal’s Chief Secretary Dr. Shrikant Baldi also joined RERA after retirement. Now it is going to be about three months since his tenure has been completed.
Apart from the chairman, two members of RERA have also retired. Now the committee headed by the Chief Justice has to choose a new chairman. The government has given NOC to the current Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena before he applies as the chairman of RERA.
