Shimla: The strike of resident doctors in medical colleges and hospitals of Himachal Pradesh is having impact on health services across the state. Resident doctors in medical colleges are on strike in protest against the Kolkata incident. Due to this strike called by doctors patients are suffering as doctors are not available in many OPDs today.
It is a matter of relief that consultant doctors are on duty and are seeing patients like every day. Apart from medical colleges, OPDs are running smoothly in other hospitals.
However, the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) in the country has announced the end of the strike. But the resident doctors of Himachal are still on strike today. The Junior Resident Doctors Association of Himachal Pradesh will also soon decide on whether to continue or end the strike.
Resident Doctors Association official Shikhin Soni said that the meeting has started and during the meeting a final decision will be taken.
In fact, there is an uproar in the whole country over the rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata. After this, resident doctors in Himachal Pradesh have also gone on strike. Its greater impact has been on the health services in IGMC Shimla, Medical College Nerchowk, Medical College Nahan, Medical College Chamba, Hamirpur and AIIMS Bilaspur.
