Road accident victims to get cashless treatment worth Rs 1.5 lakh, scheme to implemented soon in Himachal

Now under the pilot program, it is planned to be implemented in Himachal and Madhya Pradesh.

The central government is making efforts to reduce deaths due to road accidents. In this direction, a scheme has been prepared by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Under the scheme, road accident victims will be given cashless treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh. A person will be entitled to cashless treatment for a maximum of seven days from the date of the accident.

At present, this scheme has been implemented in UT Chandigarh and Puducherry. Now under the pilot program, it is planned to be implemented in Himachal and Madhya Pradesh.

This program will be implemented by the National Health Authority in coordination with local police, state health agencies, panelized hospitals. In this regard, necessary training work will be done by the National Health Agency (NHA) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The Director of Health Services has issued necessary guidelines to all CMOs and MSs of the entire state.

The victims need to get quick treatment during road accidents. The time after the accident is called the golden hour. However during this time, many patients die due to lack of timely treatment. To reduce this, a pilot program is being launched to provide cashless treatment. The Government of India aims to halve road accident-related deaths and injuries by 2030. Providing timely medical treatment, especially during the golden period, will save precious lives.
