An officer of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Himachal’s capital Shimla has come under the radar of the CBI. The Deputy Director posted in Shimla is accused of bribery. To arrest the accused, the CBI raided the ED office in Shimla yesterday but the accused officer absconded before that.
If sources are to be believed, the officer is certainly absconding. But his brother has been arrested by the CBI. The brother is also said to be involved in this corruption case. But no one can confirm it officially yet.
Sources say that the CBI received a complaint some time ago, in which the Deputy Director was accused of corruption. After the allegations were found to be true in the preliminary investigation, the CBI team from Chandigarh raided Shimla.
The central investigation agency searched some documents in the ED office in Shimla and has also seized some files. Sources say that to arrest the officer, the CBI team can also raid some possible hideouts of the officer in Himachal and Chandigarh today.
