Mandi: A massive fire broke out in Roshan Lal’s two-storey house which is completely burnt to ashes late night, Friday in Mandli village located in subdivision of Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. The incident happened around 1 o’clock in the night, when Roshan Lal’s son and his mother were sleeping in Ground floor.
Neighbour woke them up
Fortunately, neighbour Santosh heard the sound of fire and he immediately took action and woke up Roshan Lal’s family. After this, the nearby villagers were also informed. 6 Nepali labourers including Suresh, Pradeep, Mahendra, Surendra and Santosh from Baja village together tried to control the fire. A major tragedy was averted due to the promptness of the local people, otherwise the fire could have spread to other houses in the neighbourhood.
SDM reached the spot after getting the information
Roshan informed the police and administration about the incident on Saturday morning. On the instructions of SDM Nishant Tomar, the Revenue Department team reached the spot. The administration has ordered to provide immediate relief to the victim’s family as well as assess the damage. The police have registered a case and started investigating the cause of the fire.
