Shimla: Shimla Police has taken a major action against drug smugglers. Police on Monday busted a major interstate drug smuggling gang and arrested 11 accused.
The arrested accused include smugglers from various areas of Kolkata, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh.
According to the police, the main members of the gang are 38-year-old Sandeep Shah of Kolkata and 24-year-old Neeraj Kashyap of Delhi.
Apart from these, Shubham Shandil (30), Sandeep Dhiman (38), Sanjay Verma (32), Prajwal Jasta (24), Nitin Khepan (26), Vishal Mehta (32), Abhinav Kanwar (23), Ashish (29) and Sachin Stan (30) have also been arrested from Shimla and surrounding areas.

A case has been registered against all the accused in Police Station Sadar Shimla. This action of the police is considered an important step towards stopping drug smuggling in the area. Shimla Police has launched Operation Clean to end drug abuse.

Superintendent of Police Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi said that the police were constantly receiving complaints against this gang.
The main leader of this gang, Sandeep Shah, was involved in illegal drug activities for a long time, who was running a drug nexus in the entire district.
He said that this gang is using new technologies in drug smuggling. They were running full access online.
But the police is committed to take action against drugs. The police will not spare the people involved in the illegal drug business; police action against them will continue.
